Ekstrakurikuler karawitan merupakan kesenian yang dibawakan secara berkelompok, sehingga dalam memainkan alat musik gamelan siswa harus dapat saling bekerjasama.
Kegiatan di luar jam pelajaran sekolah yang mengajarkan dan melatih siswa dalam seni musik tradisional Indonesia, khususnya gamelan. Karawitan merupakan seni suara dan gamelan yang menggunakan tangga nada slendro dan pelog.
